Rules: A swimmer is placed in the 4 events that would lead to the best score for the team in that particular age group. A swimmer is not always placed in their best events, although more often than not that is the case. For instance if in 14 year old girls there are 4 very fast 100 backstroker’s but only 1 fast 100 breaststroker then the 2nd place 100 backstroker may be placed in the 2nd 100 breast spot, because that will result in an overall higher score for the team. There was an issue with the inbetweeners, i.e. someone who swam half the season as a 13 year old and the last half as a 14 year old. I swam them down an age group because as you get older you have to go faster to score higher, thus it made sense to keep them in the age group that they started in because the times later in the season are generally going to be scored with lower scores because they’ve gotten older. If I were to include them in the age group they finished in it would be unfair to the swimmers in that age group, since they were getting credit for times they went at a younger age, which would be more points. Also the USA swimming database does not have high school times for this year, thus those have not been counted. And without further ado the results:
